The acrobatic play 'Battle of Shanghai' is staged at the Opera House of Tianjin Grand Theatre
Tianjin Daily News (Reporter Liu Yin) Last night, the acrobatic drama "Battle Shanghai" was performed at the Opera Hall of Tianjin Grand Theatre. With its unique artistic form and thrilling acrobatic performances, the drama takes the audience through time and space, returning to the glorious years of the liberation of Shanghai in 1949.
The drama adopts a narrative technique of seeing the big picture from the small, combining revolutionary realism with romanticism, showing the big picture through small characters, and expanding the overall situation from small incisions. It alternates between the two main lines of the front battlefield and underground struggle, which is highly in line with the process of the Liberation of Shanghai Campaign.
The acrobatic drama "Battle of Shanghai" is divided into eight chapters: "Bloody Battle on the outskirts, stubborn resistance, intelligence gathering, fighting in the dark alleys, youth oath, iron bone assault, rainy night flight, and welcoming dawn". It tells the story of Jiang Hua, a company commander of the People's Liberation Army, and his lover and underground worker Bai Lan, who successfully prevent the enemy from destroying the Shanghai power plant in the Battle of Shanghai's Liberation.
The drama brings together 20 exquisite performances, covering various performance styles such as acrobatics, magic, comedy, dance, etc., creating 9 new forms of expression, accompanied by comprehensive artistic applications such as "sound, light, electricity, shadow, and scenery", restoring scenes such as old Shanghai street scenes and power plants, vividly demonstrating the revolutionary predecessors' spirit of pursuing ideals, truth, and light.
Tonight, the drama will perform another performance, allowing the audience to personally experience this "revolutionary story with bones, flesh, and warmth".
